Project Healthy Schools partners to promote culture of health in Upper Peninsula schools

The Michigan Health Endowment Fund recently awarded the University of Michigan’s Project Healthy Schools and the Healthy Kids U.P. project a second year of funding.

Project Healthy Schools, in collaboration with community partners, strives to improve the present and future health of youth through school-based education, environmental initiatives and engagement of the school community to support healthy choices.

This funding will expand the PHS program to six new schools across the Upper Peninsula during the 2018-2019 academic school year, as well as provide funding for returning schools. PHS will now be implemented in 17 schools in the Upper Peninsula.
