UM-Flint alumna’s Flint SOUP enriches community projects

Local crowdfunding organization Flint SOUP plans to expand its efforts to support local startups and creative community projects in 2015, says founder and U-M Flint graduate Adrian Montague.

Since 2012, Montague has raised more than $5,000 for local enterprises by hosting community events, in which three or four candidates for funding pitch their ideas and how the money will help their project and the overall Flint community.

Montague graduated last spring and recently started a full-time consulting job with the Flint Area Reinvestment Office. With the support of her new employer, she says she’ll have more resources to organize crowdfunding events in 2015.
