Munson Medical Center expands cancer collaboration with U-M Health System

The U-M Health System and Munson Medical Center in Traverse City recently signed an agreement that will give Munson physicians and staff more access to U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center specialists.

Under the agreement, Munson physicians will continue to participate in U-M tumor board discussions for patients with liver and pancreatic cancers. They may participate in other tumor boards as needed.

Additionally, U-M physicians and oncology staff will provide assistance to enable Munson Medical Center physicians to participate in U-M clinical trials and in collaborative research opportunities.

“This agreement represents our continued collaboration to enhance the quality of oncology services available in our region,” said Al Pilong, Munson Medical Center president. “It also improves the access our patients have to cutting-edge medical treatment.”
