Houghton-based firm participates in tech startup program

A technology acceleration program, Michigan I-Corps, recently brought together university and community innovators from across the state to explore business opportunities around new technologies. Launched in May, the seven-week entrepreneurial training workshop was funded by the National Science Foundation and modeled after its Innovation Corps program.

One team, GLSVSound, hailed from Houghton, Mich. Its team members included engineers and contractors based in the engineering services firm GLSV Inc. The team is developing acoustic modeling software for use in virtual reality simulations. With Michigan I-Corps they were able to explore commercial applications of the technology and enhance their entrepreneurial acumen.
