U-M student and Traverse City native, Layne Austin Simescu, returned home this summer to direct her film in the Traverse City Film Festival.
Each year, the U-M Film Department provides two student film crews the opportunity to create their own 30-minute film. Simescu directed the script of “Thru Traffic,” which was shown at this year’s film festival.
Simescu is a U-M senior majoring in Screen Arts and Cultures. This was her first year directing at the Traverse City Film Festival.
