Detroit Aircraft Corporation finds talent thanks to U-M program designed to help small businesses

In an airport on the north side of Detroit, the Detroit Aircraft Corporation is quietly engineering a revolution.

That’s where Jon Rimanelli is focusing on his mission to move people and cargo using autonomous electric vertical take-off and land aircraft, commonly referred to as flying cars.

Rimanelli’s connection to the University of Michigan is based on finding the best talent for his company, which recently received funding from the Michigan Corporate Relations Network for a U-M aerospace engineering student intern. The statewide network creates partnerships that connect Michigan’s corporations to critical university assets to help promote innovative research and grow the state’s economy.
